Sit in the front row of your own success

Success looks different to everyone. Some measure success by wealth, awards or the influence that they have over others. Only you have the power to determine what being successful is to you. You have to understand, however, that it does not come overnight. Here at United FC, we encourage our players to not only strive for success in sports, but also success in academics. We are passionate about developing a child holistically – mind, body and soul.

There are many skills that the players develop on the field that can be applied off of the field and into their books. Players learn about perseverance. As an athlete, there will be many days where quitting is at the forefront of your mind, but you cannot. Success requires perseverance. Perseverance is “persistence in doing something despite difficulty or delay in achieving success.” A college education is one that will benefit a student for the rest of their lives. Whether aspiring to obtain a degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics), Education or Social Sciences, we want to emphasize the importance of sitting in the front row of your success requires perseverance.

You sit in the front row of your success when you understand that a successful person is one who perseveres, is passionate and participates to accomplish their goals.

Success requires passion. A successful person is one who is fulfilled in whatever it is they are doing. The joy that a soccer coach feels knowing that he or she is nurturing players to unlock their full potential, is something that money cannot buy. Something that you can do for the rest of your life, not be paid to do it and continue to love it, is something that fulfills you and gives you purpose. There is no degree or certification that is too big or too small. If you have a passion for it, pursue it. Passion drives success.

Success requires participation. Give your absolute best and the results will show. You will not be great if you do not participate. You will not become a New York Times Best Seller if you never write the book. You will not make the Dean’s list if you don’t make the necessary sacrifices to complete your assignments. To be successful, you have to put in the work.
